LEt Yourself be witnessed
There's nothing like birth.
You've waited months, sometimes years, to meet this little soul. It deserves to be remembered for a lifetime.
But so often I hear: "It's all a blur."
The cool compress on your neck. Your partner's whispered encouragements. The shape of your belly as life moved within. Your hands reaching down to bring your baby to your chest. All just a blur.
In birth, our primal brain takes over, focused only on what matters most. And afterward, the memories slip through like water. These aren't just the moments you meet your baby. They're where something new in you is born, too.
That's where I come in.
I am your eyes in the moments you may not remember but will want to relive. I capture your strength, both the power you knew you had and the depth you didn't expect. I'll bring you back into your story.
Your partner stays fully present with you. Not behind a phone screen, but holding your hand, witnessing your strength unfold in real time.
Your images will show you what we all see: your power.
It would be an honor to document your birth.
"Colleen, to me, feels safe...She is warm, steady, and understanding. She is kind, so knowledgeable, and empowering. For me, she was not invisible or another body in the room judging my birth process; she was part of my birthing team. So many times I found myself drowning in a surge, feeling defeated by the intensity of my labor, by the exhaustion of it, and when I searched the room, it was Colleen’s face my eyes landed on. So many times she offered me knowing eyes, a confident smile, a nod of acknowledgment, words of encouragement: you got this, Haven, you’re doing it. And all of those times, it was exactly what I needed.
I was safe with her, and that matters to me more than I can ever fully explain."

It Matters Who Is In Your Birth Space

I'm more than a photographer; I'm a passionate birth advocate whose journey began at age 10, witnessing my sister's home birth surrounded by women supporting my mother with confidence and tenderness. That moment showed me the power of holding space during birth, and it guides my work today.
When I enter your birth space, I come as if you're my family. I might quietly document from the corner, rub your back through contractions, reassure your partner, or make eye contact when you need that extra encouragement. I intuitively read the room's energy and respond to whatever is needed, whether that's capturing intimate moments, helping your partner support you better, or simply being a calm, reassuring presence.
Before your birth day, we'll meet to discuss your vision so I know whether you want a quiet space or someone to help lighten the mood. I'm there for your unique needs, documenting with intention while honoring your experience in all its depth and beauty.
You don't have to perform, I've got you. Let go, feel whatever you need to feel, and trust that I'll be there celebrating your strength while creating art from these transformative moments that tell your birth story.

Your partner should be holding you, not a camera.

Take A Deep Breath . . .

I know there’s so much to think about as you prepare to welcome your baby. But in the middle of it all, this moment, this transformation, is yours. I’m here to make sure you feel fully supported, to hold space for you, and to document your story in a way that takes your breath away. Photographs that make you feel it all: the strength, the surrender, the love. Images that you’ll look back on and gasp, cry, and cherish forever.
Sound good?

My approach isn’t just about booking the next available spot; it’s about making sure we’re the right fit. I want to understand your vision, your hopes, and what matters most to you in your birth space.
I take on only a few births each month, so spots are limited. Don't wait, let’s talk about your birth plan and the vision you have for these images, so we can create something truly meaningful together.
